
V. Michael Bousquet
Rector
Michael is the ninth rector of St. John's Westwood. He arrived in January 2023, and previously served as the Associate Rector at the Parish of the Good Shepherd, Waban, MA, and as the Associate Rector at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Barnstable, MA. He has also served parishes in transition in the Diocese of Massachusetts, including Trinity Church, Wrentham, and the Parish of Saint Paul, Newton Highlands. Prior to parochial ministry, he was the neuroscience and neuro-oncology staff chaplain at Massachusetts General Hospital and served in residency as the inpatient psychiatric chaplain.
Prior to ministry, Michael had a career in non-profit development and fundraising and sang tenor in several choirs. He has a Div.M. degree from Harvard and an A.B. in chemistry and philosophy from Dartmouth. He also concurrently serves on the Diocesan Council, on the Diocesan Budget Committee, and is a Title IV Advisor for the Diocese of Massachusetts. He lives in West Newton with his husband, David, and his three boys, Elio (age 7), Luca (age 3), and Matteo (less than a year old).
