Confirmation
Confirmation is the completion of the Rite of Initiation. Although we are fully Christian through the Sacrament of Baptism, in the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized Christian makes a public affirmation of their faith and the bishop will lay hands upon the confirmand, to signify that God "confirms" their faith and the gift of salvation first bestowed, sometimes many years ago, in Baptism.
During the 2026/2027 program year, St. John's will run a pre-Confirmation course for those interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes will meet once a month at 6:15pm on Sunday, after to the 5:30pm Holy Eucharist. On those Sundays when the class meets, the confirmands will help to lead and to serve at the service that precedes the class time.
Pre-Confirmation classes will be co-led by the Rector and the Youth & Children's Minister. The Confirmation service will take place in June of 2027.
