CityReach Program in Boston

On March 25 & 26, eight of our high school youth attended the amazing CityReach program, which we have sorely missed during the pandemic!   Friday night we packed up 60 lunches and then heard the stories of the CityReach guides who have experienced homelessness.  On Saturday at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, we were assigned to be the greeters as folks arrived, or to distribute socks to homeless guests.

Thanks to your generosity, we had bag upon bag of clothing to donate! What was left at the end of the program we delivered to a nearby shelter, St. Francis House. All of our youth were moved by the gratitude or our guests, and were glad for the extra time we had to talk to folks because the crowd was smaller than usual.

On Sunday, March 27 at the 10:00 a.m. service, Annie, Coco, and Kay each shared one conversation they had with an unhoused guest @ CityReach. I think we all came away feeling that we received more than we gave!

B-Safe summer program

Each summer we support the B-SAFE program for elementary school kids from Mattapan at our  partner parish, Church of the Holy Spirit. We will be providing groceries for families on Thursday, July 28, and a Field Trip on Friday, July 29 to the Capron Park Zoo in North Attleboro. This is always loads of fun for the kids and the volunteers. We are also hoping to provide a special pizza lunch that week. There are many ways to get involved: you can buy groceries, help us raise funds, or help out on the really fun Field Trip! For the past two years, due to Covid, there was no in-person camp program @ C.H.S., so we are thrilled that it will be up and running once again!

B-SAFE is run by the St. Stephen's Youth Programs at several Episcopal parishes in underserved neighborhoods of Boston. If you would like to learn more about the B-SAFE program, please check out this website: If you have any questions:
